Tarascon ou Tarascon-sur-Rhône est une commune française située à l'extrémité ouest du département des Bouches-du-Rhône en région Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur.Tarascon est située près de la rive gauche du Rhône, limitrophe de la ville de Beaucaire dans le Gard avec laquelle elle forme une agglomération d'environ 30 000 habitants. Il est à noter que la commune de Tarascon ne possède aucune rive sur le Rhône . La rive gauche appartenant également à Beaucaire. Tarascon, et notamment sa partie sud-est, a été de tout temps un lieu de passage permettant de traverser le Rhône.
