Scaër [skɛʁ] est une commune du département du Finistère, dans la région Bretagne, en France. Connu pour être un haut lieu du gouren , ce sport a valu à Scaër le surnom de « pays des lutteurs ».La commune est située en Argoat, dans le sud-est du Finistère et jouxte à l'est le département du Morbihan. Son chef-lieu est situé à vol d'oiseau, à 30,5 km à l'est de Quimper et 40,2 km au nord-ouest de Lorient. Les communes limitrophes sont Bannalec au sud, Rosporden au sud-ouest, Tourc'h à l'ouest, Leuhan et Roudouallec au nord, Guiscriff à l'est et Saint-Thurien au sud-est.
