Hondschoote [ɔ̃skɔt] est une commune française située dans le département du Nord et la région Hauts-de-France.Hondschoote ne devrait en principe pas se prononcer comme pourrait le suggérer une lecture à la française de ce nom . Il devrait se prononcer à peu près « honne-ts-côte », conformément à la prononciation du néerlandais, ou « honne-ts-chaud-te » selon une prononciation flamande occidentale, se différenciant de la prononciation standard du néerlandais .
