Délimitée au nord-est par la Moselle sur trois kilomètres, la commune se situe entre Épinal et Remiremont. Elle fait ainsi face à sa petite jumelle Archettes à laquelle elle est reliée par un pont.
À l'est, elle est séparée de Pouxeux par des mamelons boisés, Rebaumont, côte de Vrupt. Au sud et à l'ouest, sa limite avec Hadol est plus artificielle. C'est au nord que l'altitude culmine, avec 521 mètres au Rômont, en direction de Dinozé.
