Noyal-sur-Vilaine est une commune française située dans le département d'Ille-et-Vilaine en région Bretagne, peuplée de 6 133 habitants.La ville est située à douze kilomètres à l'est du centre de Rennes. La Vilaine en borde les contours au nord et forme une limite naturelle avec la commune voisine d'Acigné. Noyal-sur-Vilaine étend son territoire depuis les méandres de la Vilaine, au nord, jusqu’au-delà du Bois de Gervis et du château du Bois-Orcan, au sud. La commune fait partie de la communauté de communes du Pays de Châteaugiron ainsi que du Pays de Rennes.
