Le Bourget-du-Lac est une commune française située dans le département de la Savoie, en région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
L'implantation d'un des pôles de l'Université Savoie-Mont-Blanc sur la commune a permis d'en faire une ville étudiante, d'une certaine manière. Hormis de par les étudiants, l'économie de la ville repose essentiellement sur le tourisme, la zone d'activité de Savoie Technolac et l’aéroport de Chambéry - Savoie qui permet l'afflux de nombreux touristes en hiver comme en été.
