Saint-Chamas [sɛ̃ ʃama] est une commune française située dans le département des Bouches-du-Rhône en région Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. Elle fait partie de la métropole d'Aix-Marseille-Provence .La petite ville est située au bord de l’étang de Berre, à 15 kilomètres au sud de Salon-de-Provence et à 50 km au nord-ouest de Marseille, dans un secteur qui n’a pas été touché par l’industrialisation. Sa superficie est de 2 671 hectares. Le point culminant de la commune est le Verdon qui atteint l’altitude de 121 m.
