Plouhinec [pluinɛk] est une commune française située au sud-ouest du département du Morbihan en région Bretagne. Elle appartient au canton de Pluvigner.La commune est située entre la ria d'Étel à l'est sur 17 km et la petite mer de Gâvres sur 5 km à l'ouest. Au sud les 8 km de plage donnant sur l'Océan Atlantique font partie du plus grand cordon dunaire de Bretagne, le massif dunaire de Gâvres-Quiberon.qui s'étend de la pointe de Gâvres au fort de Penthièvre sur la commune de Saint-Pierre-Quiberon.
