Seynod est une ancienne commune française située dans le département de la Haute-Savoie, en région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.Au 1er janvier 2017, elle fusionne avec les communes d'Annecy, d'Annecy-le-Vieux, de Cran-Gevrier, de Meythet et de Pringy, pour devenir une commune nouvelle, Annecy, qui compte 128 422 habitants . L'ancienne commune de Seynod comprend l’ancienne commune de Vieugy depuis 1965 et celle de Balmont depuis 1972. Sa population totale au 1er janvier 2017 est de 21 556 habitants, c'est la 2e commune historique de l'agglomération.
