Le Teilleul est une ancienne commune française située dans le département de la Manche en région Normandie, devenue le 1er janvier 2016 une commune déléguée au sein de la commune nouvelle du Teilleul.La commune est au sud-est de l'Avranchin historique, au sud du Mortainais, près de la limite administrative entre la Basse-Normandie, les Pays de la Loire en Bretagne. Son bourg est à 14 km au sud de Mortain, à 16 km au nord de Gorron, à 18 km à l'est de Saint-Hilaire-du-Harcouët et à 19 km à l'ouest de Domfront.
