Hochfelden est une commune française de la plaine d'Alsace située à 30,3 km au nord-ouest de Strasbourg dans la circonscription administrative du Bas-Rhin et, depuis le 1er janvier 2021, dans le territoire de la Collectivité européenne d'Alsace, en région Grand Est.
En 2013, la population légale est de 3 516 habitants. Bourg de milieu rural, Hochfelden est le chef-lieu de la communauté de communes du Pays de la Zorn et ancien chef-lieu d'un canton éponyme. Le 1er janvier 2017 la commune fusionne avec Schaffhouse-sur-Zorn pour former une commune nouvelle, de même nom.
