Saint-Nicolas-de-Port est une commune française située dans le département de Meurthe-et-Moselle, en région Grand Est. Ville-centre de l'unité urbaine de Dombasle-sur-Meurthe, elle appartient à l'aire urbaine de Nancy.
La commune est située sur la rive gauche de la Meurthe face à Varangéville. Par la départementale D 400, elle se trouve à 13 km de Nancy et 18 km de Lunéville, mais l'autoroute A33 accueille le flux principal de circulation.
