L'Observatoire de Paris est un observatoire astronomique implanté sur trois sites : Paris , Meudon et Nançay.L'Observatoire de Paris est né du projet, en 1667, de créer un observatoire astronomique équipé de bons instruments permettant d'établir des cartes pour la navigation. Venant en complément de l'Académie des sciences fondée en 1666, il a joué un rôle très important dans l'astronomie en Occident. C'est là que prirent essor en France des sciences comme la géodésie, la cartographie et la météorologie. C'est le plus ancien observatoire du monde toujours en fonctionnement.
