La Léchère est une commune française située à six kilomètres de Moûtiers et à 22 kilomètres d'Albertville, dans le département de la Savoie en région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
Une fusion de communes a lieu le 30 juin 1972 à la suite de laquelle les communes de Celliers, Doucy, Pussy, Notre-Dame-de-Briançon, Petit-Cœur et Nâves sont regroupées dans une seule et même entité. Le 1er janvier 2019, Bonneval et Feissons-sur-Isère intègrent La Léchère qui devient une commune nouvelle.
