Charleville-Mézières est une commune française située dans le département des Ardennes, en région Grand Est. Elle est divisée en quatre cantons. L'agglomération Ardenne Métropole qu'elle forme avec la ville de Sedan compte 130 000 habitants.Avant la fusion des deux communes principales en 1966, les gentilés respectifs étaient Carolopolitains pour Charleville et Macériens pour Mézières. Ses habitants sont appelés les Carolomacériens ou plus couramment les Carolos.
