Lormes est une commune française située dans le département de la Nièvre, en région Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.
Lormes est située au cœur de la France sur le rebord nord-ouest du massif du Morvan et est adhérente à son parc naturel régional. Lormes est la première ville étape du Morvan quand on vient de Paris. Elle est bâtie dans une gorge où coulent deux ruisseaux, qui vont de cascades en cascades, former au fond de la vallée à l'ouest la principale source de la rivière d'Auxois.
