Masseret est une commune française située dans le département de la Corrèze, en région Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Ses habitants, au nombre de 682 en 2016, sont appelés les Masserétois.Le bourg est situé sur une colline dominant le col permettant le passage entre le haut et le bas Limousin, le nord et le sud du plateau limousin, et qui sépare les monts de Fayat à l'ouest du massif du mont Gargan à l'est.
