Le lac du Bourget est un lac situé en France à l'ouest du département de la Savoie en région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.Lac post-glaciaire du massif du Jura, le lac du Bourget a été formé à l'issue de la dernière glaciation de Würm, il y a environ 19 000 ans, par le retrait du grand glacier alpin du quaternaire. C'est le plus grand lac naturel d'origine glaciaire entièrement situé en France, le lac Léman étant franco-suisse .
