Le Hérisson coule au bout d’une gorge en sept cascades d’une hauteur de 805 mètres sur un total de 280 m dans les profondeurs. Un sentier balisé mène à de nombreuses cascades, piscines et grottes. La Cascade de l’Éventail et la Cascade du Grand Saut sont les points forts du parcours de 3,7 km.
Le niveau d’eau de l’Herisson varie selon la saison. À marée basse, les chutes sont moins impressionnantes, mais des formations bizarres deviennent visibles au fond du ruisseau.
