La Clusaz est une commune française située dans le département de la Haute-Savoie, en région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. Ses habitants se nomment les Cluses ou les Chaves en arpitan.
La station de ski de la commune naît avec des pionniers en 1907, mais son essor s'affirme à partir de 1955 avec la construction d'un téléphérique. D'où l'émergence d'un tourisme sportif , ce qui a permis le développement de l'hôtellerie, la restauration et des commerces. La commune de La Clusaz a été classée Station de tourisme par décret du 25 mai 1956. Puis, par décret du 18 juin 1969, Station de sports d’hiver et d’alpinisme. Le 17 septembre 2015, La Clusaz a obtenu le classement supérieur « Station Classée de Tourisme », attribué pour 12 ans.
