Au beau milieu du village, une falaise de grès rose est marquée par plusieurs portes dérobées, qui peuvent alimenter l'imagination... Il s'agit en réalité d'anciennes caves, plus précisément de garde-mangers. En 1875, après l'arrêt de l'exploitation des mines de plomb, les habitants exploitent ces cavités pour stocker la nourriture (température de 10 degrés toute l'année). Les caves familiales se transmettent de génération en génération. Elles ont également servi d'abris pour de nombreux habitants lors des bombardements durant la Seconde Guerre Mondiale.
