Située à une altitude de 879 mètres, la Croix de Fresse rappelle qu'en ces lieux, en 1814, 4 Grognards de Napoléon 1er sont morts en défendant ce col contre les Cosaques. A proximité se trouve le Chalet de la Croix de Fresse qui offre une vue imprenable sur Bussang. Ce site est facilement accessible à pied depuis la station de ski de Larcenaire, sur les hauteurs de Bussang, par un chemin en balcon balisé rectangle vert.
