Ce surprenant lavoir a été construit en 1839 en pierre de taille. Il est l'oeuvre de l'architecte Thiebaut et c'est l'entreprise Maurice Roussel de Grondrecourt qui le réalisera.
Il est inspiré Du panthéon antique. Dans les angles du fronton , un dieu et une déesse s'appuient sur un vase d'où s'écoule un flot abondant. Au centre de la façade, une ouverture en plein cintre abrite une statue de femme engainée, vêtue d'une courte tunique, et tenant dans chacune de ses mains un vase.
