Afragola , est une ville italienne d'environ 64 450 habitants située dans la ville métropolitaine de Naples en Campanie.
La première mention du village d'Afragola remonte à l'an 1131, où il apparaît sous le nom de Afraore. Plusieurs autres variantes du nom coexistent par la suite, tel que Afragone, Afraolla, Fraolla ou Afrangola. Finalement, le nom de la ville semble se stabiliser pendant la domination angevine et aragonaise, en tant que Villa Fragorum. Ce n'est qu'à l'époque moderne qu'elle assume son nom actuel, dérivé de la prononciation de Villa Fragorum dans le vernaculaire napolitain de ses habitants.
