Le pont est également connu sous le nom de Ponte Quattro Capi ou le Pont des 4 Têtes.
La première maison à gauche en entrant sur l'île est liée à Mathilde de Toscane qui avait une voix importante au Vatican, mais qui peut également être associée aux Trappistes d'Orval.
L'histoire de sa vie est tellement fascinante qu'il est inévitable de ne pas la mentionner ici, principalement parce qu'il existe un lien évident avec la Belgique et notre bière trappiste tant appréciée. Elle est entièrement racontée dans ma Chronique n° 13. Il vous suffit de cliquer sur le lien.
