Megara Hyblaea est une colonie grecque située sur la côte est de la Sicile, à 22 km au nord de Syracuse, près de l’actuelle ville d’Augusta,. C’est une des plus anciennes colonies grecques de Sicile, fondée dans la seconde moitié du VIIIe siècle av. J.-C. Elle a connu deux grandes phases d’occupation, à l’époque archaïque et à l’époque hellénistique
