La Westerheide est une zone de bruyère de 344 ha sur le territoire de Hilversum et Laren. La zone borde la Bussumerheide, l'A1, l'agglomération de Hilversum et la ligne de train Amsterdam-Amersfoort. La bruyère forme un ensemble avec la Bussumerheide. À la frontière entre les deux zones se trouve un chemin de terre droit de environ 3 km de long, la Nieuwe Crailoseweg, également appelée Prière sans fin.
