L'origine de cette église serait située au 7ème siècle, lorsque un compagnon de Saint Willibrord aurait fondé ici une chapelle. L'église actuelle, initialement dédiée à Saint Martin, date du 15ème siècle. L'église possédait, en plus de l'autel principal, encore neuf autels latéraux. Il s'agit d'une église croisée de style gothique tardif avec une nef pseudo-basilicale, dont les collatéraux ont été prolongés plus tard le long du clocher. Le chœur à cinq pans est légèrement plus ancien et est actuellement séparé de la nef par un mur. La nef a des voûtes en bois à caissons.
