World Press Photo est une organisation indépendante et non lucrative fondée en 1955 et basée à Amsterdam, aux Pays-Bas. World Press Photo est mondialement reconnue pour son concours annuel de photographie de presse.
Son but est de stimuler et soutenir le développement du photojournalisme, d'encourager la transmission de connaissances dans ce domaine et de promouvoir l'échange libre et non-restreint de l'information. Cette organisation travaille à l'échelle internationale. Elle organise ainsi de nombreux évènements à travers le monde : conférences, ateliers et, une fois par an, le "Joop Swart Masterclass".
