La famille Van Gogh à Helvoirt est en contact avec la famille noble De Jonge van Zwijnsbergen, une famille éminente étroitement impliquée dans la communauté protestante. Joan de Jonge van Zwijnsbergen (1821-1881) vit au château de Zwijnsbergen, qui est passé d'une exploitation agricole depuis le bas Moyen Âge à un château au XVIIIe siècle. Il est membre du conseil de l'église en tant qu'ancien et surveillant d'église, présidé par Theodorus. Sa famille possédera le domaine prestigieux jusqu'en 1905. L'ensemble comprend une maison, une maison de jardinier, une ferme avec des dépendances, un parc et en plus un domaine. En 2001, un incendie détruit en grande partie le bâtiment, avant qu'il ne soit restauré dans sa gloire d'antan.
