La bataille de la rivière froide ou bataille du Frigidus a eu lieu du 5 au 6 septembre 394 et a vu s'affronter les troupes chrétiennes de l'Empire romain d'Orient alliées aux Wisigoths, et commandées par l'empereur romain Théodose Ier et le roi des Wisigoths Alaric, aux troupes païennes coalisées de l'Empire romain d'Occident et des Francs, sous le commandement d'Eugène et d'Arbogast.
