Le Home Insurance Building est un immeuble qui a été construit par l'architecte William Le Baron Jenney à Chicago en 1885 et qui mesurait 55 mètres. Il est célèbre pour être le premier gratte-ciel de l'histoire de l'architecture,,. Celui-ci comportait à peu près 580 fenêtres[réf. nécessaire].
Le célèbre Home Insurance Building fut construit entre 1884 à 1885 à Chicago. William Le Baron Jenney en fut l'architecte. Cinq ans après le début de son élévation, deux autres étages furent ajoutés.
