Güssing è un comune austriaco di 3 660 abitanti nel distretto di Güssing, in Burgenland, del quale è capoluogo e centro maggiore; ha lo status di città capoluogo di distretto .I Köszegi, signori di Güssing erano una nobile famiglia nella regione di frontiera tra l'Austria e la vicina Ungheria; nel 1274 la famiglia si trasferì nella città di Kőszeg in Ungheria. Nel 1522 Güssing divenne la residenza della famiglia Batthyány, una delle principali dell'Ungheria.
