Thommen è un villaggio e una frazione di Burg-Reuland nella parte di lingua tedesca della provincia belga di Liegi. Fino al 1 gennaio 1977 era un comune autonomo. Il municipio di Burg-Reuland si trova a Thommen. Il villaggio di Thommen o Tumbas è già menzionato in vecchi atti dell'Abbazia di Prüm. Il nome si riferisce alla villa o al palazzo posseduti dai principi franchi. Esistono anche fonti scritte che attestano una cappella che risale all'anno 814. Il termine ad tumbas si riferisce ai tumuli che si trovano nei dintorni, tra cui il tumulo di Hochtumsknopf. Inoltre, c'era una importante strada romana che partiva da Reims passando per Ivoix e Besslingen, attraversando Thommen fino a Colonia.
