*Monumento per i dispersi*
Questo cimitero appartiene alla Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) e commemora i soldati dispersi della Prima Guerra Mondiale che combatterono nei dintorni di Ypres sul fronte occidentale.
Il terreno su cui si trova il monumento non è belga: è stato donato alla Gran Bretagna dal Re Alberto I in riconoscimento del sacrificio sostenuto dall'Impero Britannico nella difesa e liberazione del Belgio durante la guerra.
Qui si può vedere un bellissimo tempio rotondo, costruito da Chalton Bradshaw (che disegnò anche il monumento di Cambrai), sorvegliato da due leoni di pietra. I nomi di 11.447 soldati britannici dispersi sono incisi nelle mura.
Dal 7 giugno 1999, su richiesta del 'Comitato Memoriale di Ploegsteert', qui viene suonata la 'Last Post' ogni primo venerdì del mese.
