Mariakerke è un comune della città belga di Ghent, il capoluogo della provincia delle Fiandre Orientali. Mariakerke, che è urbanizzato, contava all'inizio del 2019 14.140 abitanti. È un antico villaggio che un tempo era per quasi il 70 percento paludoso; nel resto del territorio si trovavano appezzamenti di terra con proprietà come l'attuale Claeys-Bouüaert e il Seminario di San Paolo; era collegato a Ghent da una sola strada. Quella strada è ora diventata la Brugsesteenweg.
