Steenput è un paese e un comune nella provincia belga di Hainaut. Il comune conta oltre 10.000 abitanti. Il comune rurale si trova a ovest della provincia, al confine con la Francia e l'agglomerato metropolitano intorno alla città francese di Lille. Il nome francese Estaimpuis di questo luogo è una imitazione fonetica della parola Steenput. Questo nome in lingua nederlandese è il nome originale di questo luogo che, insieme ai paesi circostanti, apparteneva alla zona di lingua olandese. Nel comune scorre il canale di Spiere, proprio accanto al fiume Grote Spiere che è stato rettificato.
