Breendonk è un comune nella provincia belga di Anversa e una frazione di Puurs-Sint-Amands. Breendonk era un comune autonomo fino alla ristrutturazione comunale del 1977. Breendonk faceva parte di Puurs fino a quando nel 1836 venne scorporato come comune autonomo. Con la ristrutturazione comunale del 1977, il territorio del comune di Breendonk fu diviso in due. La parte a ovest della strada A12 fu unita a Puurs come frazione, mentre la parte a est della A12 con il Forte di Breendonk fu unita a Willebroek. Di conseguenza, il Forte di Breendonk non si trova più sul territorio della frazione. Uno dei precedenti sindaci è Albert Moortgat, fondatore della birreria Duvel Moortgat e, ai suoi tempi, una figura molto influente nella regione.
