La storia del Manneken Pis di Geraardsbergen inizia nel 1452. Un inizio non molto bello, poiché quell'anno gli invasori di Gand hanno messo a terra la città. Anche le fontane nella Piazza sono state abbattute. Nel 1455, il magistrato cittadino di Geraardsbergen riceve il benedetto ordine di ordinare un "lattoenen mannekin", ovvero un omino di ottone, dal fontaniere di Bruxelles Jan Van Der Schelden.
Il primo Manneken Pis che viene consegnato risulta essere un po' troppo grande per il basamento. Nel 1459 arriva un modello più adatto. Pesa 45,5 libre. Il Manneken Pis di Geraardsbergen è nato.
Solo 160 anni dopo nascerà il suo omologo di Bruxelles - che secondo i Geraardsbergenani è un'imitazione.
Il Manneken Pis di Geraardsbergen ha centinaia di costumi. Un gran numero di essi è esposto permanentemente nel museo del Manneken Pis.
