Il castello di Brachter si trova nel centro del paese ed è stato costruito tra il 1782 e il 1785 su commissione di Georg Friedrich August Ferrand von Montigny, la cui pietra tombale si può trovare nella cappella di San Hubertus a Weweler. Nel XIX secolo, la famiglia von Montigny lasciò l'Eifel e abbandonò il castello. Successivamente passò in possesso del nonno dell'attuale proprietario Hilar Kaut. Lo stemma della famiglia von Montigny, sul quale sono raffigurate spade e un leone che salta, è ancora visibile sul retro dell'edificio. Il castello è stato set del film Winterspelt del regista Eberhard Fechner negli anni '70, tratto dal romanzo di Alfred Andersch.
