Il tunnel di Zelzate è un tunnel sotto il canale Gent-Terneuzen. Il tunnel è parte della A11/E34 e si trova a Zelzate. Il tunnel di Zelzate si trova tra le uscite Zelzate-Ovest e Zelzate-Est e ha 2x2 corsie senza corsia di emergenza. La velocità massima nel tunnel è limitata a 90 km/h. Il soffitto del tunnel si trova a 1 metro sotto il fondo del canale, il che consente il passaggio di navi da carico profonde fino a 12 metri. Nel 2022 aprirà il nuovo slu di mare a Terneuzen, che consentirà l'accesso a navi fino a 14,5 metri di profondità. Per questo motivo, il ministro fiammingo dei Lavori Pubblici Hilde Crevits ha annunciato nel gennaio 2011 che sarà necessario costruire un nuovo tunnel di Zelzate più profondo. Secondo Crevits, questo dovrà essere completato entro il 2018. Nel maggio 2015, questa decisione è stata rivista dal nuovo ministro Ben Weyts: questo sarebbe stato affrontato solo dopo il completamento dello slu nel 2022. Il tunnel sarà situato più a sud del tunnel attuale.
