Il vecchio mulino di Nekkersgat, immerso in un contesto verde, è un tipico esempio di architettura rurale del XVII secolo nella regione del Brabante. I piccoli fiumi della regione erano infatti costellati di mulini, importanti strutture industriali del nostro paesaggio fino a quando non furono sostituiti da mulini a farina e altre macchine moderne nel XX secolo. Il mulino di Nekkersgat fungeva da mulino a farina, mulino a olio e mulino di carta. Ha smesso di funzionare dopo il 1918 e la macchinaria è stata rimossa. Nel 1970, il comune di Uccle lo ha salvato dalla demolizione e lo ha trasformato in un centro di arti e mestieri. Il completo restauro del mulino e dei suoi dintorni, su iniziativa del comune di Uccle, ha riportato tutto il fascino originale del sito. L'unico mulino simile nella regione è il mulino di Lindekemale lungo il Woluwe.
