Dal 2000 la Cattedrale di Nostra Signora è inserita nella lista del patrimonio mondiale dell'UNESCO.
Il rosone in vetro colorato della facciata ovest, con un diametro di 7 metri, attira l'attenzione. Si trova nella navata romanica e vi si affaccia il grande organo.
Originariamente la facciata ovest aveva due portali uno accanto all'altro. Intorno al 1170 entrambi i portali furono riuniti sotto un arco a sesto acuto. Presumibilmente perché l'interno della chiesa verso il lato ovest era considerato troppo buio , nel 1526 fu aggiunta una grande finestra gotica. Nell'Ottocento , quando scoppiò il restaurazionismo sfrenato in tutta Europa, questa finestra fu chiusa e sostituita da un grande rosone. Ci si rende conto che l'attuale facciata ovest ha poco in comune con quella originaria .
