Il lago Lemàno , spesso chiamato lago di Ginevra, è il maggiore lago della Svizzera e dell'Europa occidentale. Si trova sul confine franco-svizzero e si estende per il 40% in Francia e per il restante 60% in Svizzera.
Lo specchio d'acqua ha una forma allungata, tipica di un lago glaciale subalpino, a mezza luna in direzione est-ovest con la concavità verso la sponda meridionale, quella francese.
