Il Spree si snoda qui in due curve, formando una sorta di 'omega', e su queste due curve si estende a sinistra il nuovo Bundeskanzleramt. Molto simbolica l'idea sottostante: le rive collegano, creano ponti, est e ovest si incontrano qui, si deve aver pensato. Forse l'opinione dei berlinesi cambierà col tempo, ma tanto bene si parlava del Reichstag restaurato, quanto si trovava megalomane questo edificio governativo avviato da Kohl. È diventato un complesso allungato di edifici e ponti, che appare comunque elegante per il colore e le enormi quantità di aria tra le rocce. L'entrata si trova lateralmente rispetto al Reichstag.
