Il villaggio di Schleife, in alto sorabo Slepo, è il centro del comune omonimo e della comunità amministrativa di Schleife nel distretto di Görlitz in Sassonia orientale. Dalla metà degli anni '90, i due villaggi di Rohne e Mulkwitz appartengono al comune.
Schleife è conosciuto come luogo di culto nell'area di insediamento soraba dell'Alta Lusazia, ed è il centro della regione di Schleife, dove si trovano il costume di Schleife e il dialetto di Schleife della lingua soraba. Nel dialetto di Schleife, il luogo ha il nome non ufficiale di Slěpe.
