Stolpen è una piccola città nella Sassonia. La città si trova a circa 25 chilometri a est di Dresda e appartiene al distretto della Svizzera sassone-Alta Lusazia. Il simbolo e punto di attrazione turistica di Stolpen è la rovina del castello di Stolpen, situata su una roccia di basalto.
Il comune è suddiviso nel centro principale di Stolpen e nelle ulteriori frazioni di Heeselicht, Helmsdorf, Langenwolmsdorf, Lauterbach e Rennersdorf-Neudörfel.
