Rhede è una città nella Münsterland occidentale nel nord-ovest della Renania Settentrionale-Vestfalia e appartiene al circondario di Borken nel distretto governativo di Münster.
Rhede è un centro di base nella parte sud-occidentale del circondario di Borken. La città di Rhede è politicamente parte della Münsterland occidentale, ma geograficamente appartiene ancora alla parte più orientale della pianura alluvionale del Basso Reno, che qui si fonde fluidamente nella baia della Vestfalia. A nord, Rhede confina per pochi chilometri con il confine statale olandese. Rhede è inoltre parte dell'area transfrontaliera di Hamaland. Nel paese scorre il torrente Rheder, che a sud di Rhede sfocia nell'Aa di Bocholt.
