Wachtberg è un comune con 20.391 abitanti nel distretto di Rhein-Sieg, nel Land della Renania-Vestfalia. Confina direttamente con la città federale di Bonn e con il Land della Renania-Palatinato.
Il grande comune è stato formato il 1° agosto 1969 in seguito alla legge per la riorganizzazione comunale dell'area di Bonn. Il nome deriva da una collina situata circa nel centro del comune, tra le località di Villip e Berkum. Il comune si estende su un'area di 49,68 chilometri quadrati ed è suddiviso in 13 frazioni.
