Pulsnitz è una piccola città sassone nel distretto di Bautzen, al margine occidentale dell'Alta Lusazia, circa 10 km a sud di Kamenz e circa 25 km a nord-est della capitale del Land, Dresda. Pulsnitz è sede della comunità amministrativa di Pulsnitz.
Il centro storico si trova su un'altura sopra la valle di Pulsnitz, il fiume omonimo nasce nel paese vicino di Ohorn. La piccola città è immersa nelle catene montuose del colle e delle montagne della Lusazia occidentale. Le cime delle montagne sono per lo più alberate.
